Cheryl’s Column, Written By Cheryl Freier, for www.thegraylinghiddentruthpoems.com
On this date in history, there were some displaced persons, refugees that had been captured by the Nazis that were freed. Notably were the refugees in Rees, Germany who were to be repatriated. Also, other displaced persons because of the war leave temporary transfer camps, which were near Hamburg, Germany. These people were very fortunate to survive the war and to go back to Russia.

I Received A Letter From The Duke And Duchess of Cambridge’s Secretary
Written By Cheryl Freier
I received a letter yesterday from the Secretary of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Katherine. I had sent William and Katherine a copy of the storybook, The Morning’s Glory: The Light. I had written and illustrated the storybook. The story had an interesting plot about a young boy named George. George had three friends: the four-winged butterfly, the rabbit, and the gray bird. Together George and his three friends travel through a maze. They meet a wizard and a genie. George solves a mystery by solving a puzzle and thereby releases a spell. As a result, the souls of the one-hundred men and women who have been under a spell in King Solomon’s Castle are freed. George travels home with his three friends to his castle. Read the storybook, The Morning’s Glory: The Light. It is a delightful, exciting book for young children to read. Look at my website for additional storybooks at www.thegraylinghiddentruthpoems.com.

Cheryl’s Column: On This Day In History

Posted by cheryl - May 28th, 2015

On this day in history in the year 1940, the British and the French began their evacuation of the City of Dunkirk. This was during World War II. The history of this evacuation is a memorial to men who triumphed over tragedy in the bloody campaign to fight against the Nazis. There would be other evacuations of cities in this war. The war raged until its fires were finally extinguished by the fighting men who fought under the command of General Patten.
For some more interesting thoughts on the spirit of the fighting American soldiers and the spirit of the partisans who bravely defended many cities in Europe, read Cheryl Freier’s novels on the Holocaust on the website: www.thegraylinghiddentruthpoems.com. Read Cheryl Freier’s fifth novel, Echoes Resounding From The Past Hidden Truth Poems.

Remembering Memorial Day Even After The Day Passed

Posted by cheryl - May 27th, 2015

On this Memorial Day holiday weekend, we pray for the peace of men who died while fighting for our country in past wars. In World War II, many American soldiers died on European soil defending Americans and Europeans against the Nazi scourge and aggressions in Europe. Those few people who hid from the Nazis and survived told stories of horror and hatred that had never been heard of before in modern history.
This Memorial Day weekend corresponds in date, coincidentally, with the Jewish holiday of Shavuot in which there is the renewal of faith as the Jewish people celebrate the growing of new wheat and other crops. On Shavuot there is always a specific traditional memorial service for the remembrance of the dead. On this same weekend, the Christians of the world celebrate Pentecost.
On this Memorial Day weekend, we celebrate the liberation from the Holocaust. Let us always remember that it was because of the American soldiers that fought against the Nazis that we have freedom in our country. It is because of the American soldiers that the remnants of Jewish people has been able to live and to prosper. For a more detailed experience on World War II, read Cheryl Freier’s novels on the Holocaust. Her website is www.thegraylinghiddentruthpoems.com. Her fifth novel, Echoes Resounding From The Past Hidden Truth Poems is being shown on the Good Reads website.

Choosing Books That Express the Tension of the Times
Written by author, Cheryl Freier
The novel, Echoes Resounding from the Past: Hidden Truth Poems is a depiction of triumph over innumerable odds. This is Joseph Freier’s story and his hope to survive in the woods in Nazi Slovakia. In this novel, one learns about how people survived in other wars. In this book, the reader’s fascination for a revelation is realized as the thought: it is a small world is revealed. Find out how two people meet from opposite ends of the world.
