Reading Chapter 5 of the Book, the Grayling Hidden Truth Poems
Following the chapter heading, which reads “Getting Our Names Off Of the Germans List” the words read, “We had prepared, but as Joseph commented just as he felt we were safe from any German pursuers, we had taken too big a chance. Joseph suggested that we use strategy. Joseph suggested that the next time that the Germans came that he would go and escape through the attic. That way he could come later to rescue us. All agreed. In the meantime, Joseph said, “I must tell my foreman to take our names off of today’s roundup list. “I must tell my foreman to take our names of today’s roundup list. We slept in the woods that night. We were hungry, but a safe place to sleep was our concern……”

Taken from the beginning of the book, The Day Of The Hidden Truth Poems, from xiii, “History show us that before and during World War II, and in German, there was an extreme element of power-hungry leaders willing to eradicate entire societies in order to establish themselves as the supreme rulers…..”
