A Passage Of Meaningful Words Taken From the Day Of The Hidden Truth Poems
Taken from the beginning of the book, The Day Of The Hidden Truth Poems: page XV “News of what happened on Khristallnacht spread throughout Europe. Hitler’s vengeance and hatred of Jewish people were behind all of the destruction of Jewish businesses, the burning and destruction of nearly 200 synagogues of worship, and the death of 50 Jewish people. Europe and its people would never be the same. The world would never be the same…..”

From the poem that Martin Freier wrote, Hate
Like a brush fire
That never ends, ‘hate’ just spreads
Throughout the neighborhood,
Though it does little good.
In its wake, hate keeps burning,
Always churning,
And using everything that is good
For fodder and food.
Fanned by the winds from the Northeast,
Hate breeds hate
Among those that are blessed
And those that are cursed by fate.
When people are fighting
In its presence,
hate is winning,
By piling lies upon lies
While love is dying,
No one who is in its path
Can escape hate’s wrath.
It sets friend against friend
Until it achieves its malicious end.

From the Novel, the Grayling Hidden Truth Poems
Blog Written by Cheryl Freier
The words are taken from Chapter 4 – THEN THE GERMANS CAME: “Then one day Henry saw a lot of dust of clouds on the ground, moving like the wind and he knew. We were spared nearly one year. What Henry spotted was two motorcycles coming towards out town. He ran down the hill, one foot running forward and then the other running even faster—just like wheels with spokes—his feet turning and turning”.

Some powerful words from page 12 of the novel, The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems
From page 29 some powerful words that tell the story of Martin Freier as a young boy in Nazi Slovakia from the book, The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems.
“……One day went by. Two days passed by, and then a month, and then months; we were spared some of the initial strategic verve of conquering, because we lived near the Russian border and the Germans were not entrenched in the outskirts of our town yet. We waited for Henry to tell us that the Germans were coming every day…..”
