Brave men fell while defending the freedom of the world while landing on the beaches of Normandy. People all over the world suffered from the oppression of the Nazis in WWII. Cheryl Freier has tried to tell the story of a family who though overwhelmed by the Nazi occupation managed to escape from the Nazi oppression in Slovakia. Talk about novels The Grayling and Anna’s Christmas was engaging and of interest to the participants. High points based on true-to-life happenings were discussed and parts of the books were read out loud. The reading of the storybook The Shepherd Boy was well-received by the audience and enjoyed.
