They Turned Tragedy into Survival in Nazi Slovakia in 1944
Text taken from the book, page 123: The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems reads: …”They ran at first from the scene of death, never looking back. When they had reached some distance in the woods, they slowed down their pace and walked single file. The trail had guided them along their way through circuitous, but parallel perimeter, inundated with overgrown brush. All three carried somber expressions on their faces. Their eyes, dazed with fright, were aimed straight and sometimes looked up to the sky for guidance…..”

The Story Of My Husband’s Plight In Nazi Slovakia Is Written In The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems and In Other Books
This selection of text is taken from the the book: The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems from page 85:
“Oh, a purpose?” Sam asked with an agitated tone in his voice. “Yes, G-d is always with us; even though it seems like he has abandoned us”, Martin told him. Sam got up to his feet and questioned, “tell me, what did Sarah ever do that was wrong?” Martin spoke in a firm tone of voice, “G-d is good and G-d is merciful…..The Germans killed Sarah and her family and the Germans are certainly not Jews.”Sam smiled a small smirk, as he said, “no, I guess not, and then he said, in a more serious tone of voice, “They are Germans, devils”. “Yes, they are, and our G-d has quite a job on his hands saving his people from the throes of the devil,” Martin answered. The brothers walked on, side-by-side………..”

Martin Freier Wrote Poems That Reflected His Thoughts About Surviving The Holocaust

Posted by cheryl - July 24th, 2015

Martin Freier Wrote Strong Words That Were Full Of Energy In His Poems
Martin Freier was a survivor of the Nazi Holocaust in Slovakia. He wrote one book of poetry, The Day Of The Hidden Truth Poems. He wrote words in his poetry that were powerful, full of meaning, strong words that were full of energy.
From the poem, “Hate”, comes forth the words: “Like a brush fire
That never ends, ‘hate’ just spreads
Throughout the neighborhood,
Though it does little good.
In its wake, hate keeps burning,
Always churning,
And using everything that is good
For fodder and food.
Fanned by the winds from the Northeast,
Hate breeds hate
Among those that are blessed
And those that are cursed by fate…….”

A Poem Taken From The Book Of Poetry That Martin Freier Wrote

Posted by cheryl - July 23rd, 2015

The Day Of the Hidden Truth Poems Is Written In Memoriam To Martin Freier
From the poem, “Life And The Clock” come forth the powerful words of reflection:
……”Too many precious moments pass buy,
Without people asking why.
When they look around,
The day is gone.
Tomorrow comes on the wings
Of a bird that sings.
No way to bring yesterdays
Back again;
Be it joy or pain.
Oh yes, we sometimes remember……
Life is like a clock.
It keeps rolling on and on,
Without a pause.

The Words Echoed And Echoed Over And Over Again
From the poem, “Daring To Be Me” and from the book of poems, The Day Of The Hidden Truth Poems by poet Martin Freier, here are some of the powerful reflective words that he writes:
“Standing in front of a mirror,
I feel hopeless,
When I saw those wrinkles,
Flakes, and pimples that age
Etched into my face.
Under my eyes,
I see disgrace, though I realize
There is little I can do……”

About The Poem “Someone Is Watching” From The Book, The Day Of the Hidden Truth Poems
From the words of echoing power and from the mind and spirit of the poet, Martin Freier comes the true words of hidden truths:
“Miles from shore I felt lost in a stormy sea.
All alone without a friend,
I contemplated my untimely end.
I saw nothing but hungry
Sharks circling all around me.
The stormy clouds in the sky
Gave me no shelter.
I found no peace in slumber,
For I always woke up with empty dreams…..”
