The Rivers Of Freedom Within Our Thoughts

By Cheryl Freier

Recently, I came across an article on the discovery in Kenya of an underground river.  The concept of a flowing river under the ground intrigued me, and I wanted to learn more about it.  The river water would have to have rocks made of porous contents so that the water could flow freely.

The geological phenomenon which allows water to flow swiftly through rocks is called an aquifer.  An aquifer has to have basic qualities of being porous and permeable.  There are rocks which fit this definition:  volcanic rocks which are fractured such as sandstone, limestone which has been fractured, and sand and gravel which has never consolidated.  (Yahoo.com)

Nature is so unique that in order for a river to flow under the ground, it must have these specially categorized rocks.  I am switching gears in my mind and thinking of a ‘river’ in a metaphorical way.  Did you ever think of a ‘river’ within you, a driver, but a force for doing only good deeds?  Yes, there are ‘rivers’ within us all.

Joseph Freier was the father of a young, beautiful family in the book:  The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems, who had thoughts ‘gushing’ within him about saving his family from the throes of the Nazi’s whose army had occupied Slovakia.  Read the book for reading enjoyment and, also, to familiarize yourself with the concept of a ‘river within striving for a good purpose’.

Cheryl Freier is the author of The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems and The Wild Grasses Hidden Truth Poems, both books and other novels written by Cheryl Freier are listed on Amazon.com.  On this festive holiday of Thanksgiving, let us sing praises for the people in this country and in the world who live in peace.  On this Thanksgiving holiday, let us remember that in 1620 a group of people came by ship to this country, seeking religious freedom, and this historical occasion is the reason for our festive holiday.   Amen.

Perhaps The Storybooks Which Tell Long Tales Of Ancient Castles Hidden Away And Decaying Have Some Credibility After All By Cheryl Freier in memory of Martin Freier

Perhaps The Storybooks Which Tell Long Tales Of Ancient Castles Hidden Away And Decaying Have Some Credibility After All

By Cheryl Freier, author of The Wild Grasses Hidden Truth Poems and other historical fiction novels on WWII (Amazon.com)

Scary sights of castles which were in their heyday the most prominent buildings in the area, are decaying to the elements and will someday be gone from sight; their long history will never be told and the memory of their touching resident’s stories will be gone forever.

There was an interesting article on Yahoo internet which explained that the castles were mostly in decay and not used.  If you view these castles in an imaginative way, you can picture knights and their armies coming to visit.  You can visualize for more modern times mogul barons owning these homes and having lots of guests visiting.  However, as in times of the past, species become extinct, and styles of life change, or circumstances just happen.

When you read one of Cheryl Freier’s historical fiction books; and particularly, The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems, you will see destruction all around you.  People who lived during this timeline had to accept living in this type of environment and it was not easy.  It was an extremely depressive environment.

Old Diseases May Surface And We Have To Deal With Them

By Cheryl Freier, author of The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems, and other historical fiction novels, and one storybook:  The Shepherd Boy And The Sheep Alphabet

There was an article on Yahoo posted this week which expressed serious concerns about the discovery in California of a mosquito which carries the dengue and yellow fever viruses.  Even though this small size mosquito with white stripes across its legs is the pervasive carrier of deadly diseases, health officials are not pressing the alarm button yet.  They are working on ways to control the mosquito pest and also to eradicate it.

It is possible that scientists can eradicate the deadly mosquito, which is not endemic to the United States and comes from South American countries.  The idea of using scientific advances in DNA to eradicate a mosquito that brings deadly diseases is comforting to me.

I can remember as a young child reading about the people who went out west to get rich; they traveled in Conestoga wagons; they were very brave.  One of the hardships which they faced was the “yellow fever”.  Most people died from the disease.  Almost everyone who traveled had the fear of this disease on their minds.  Scientists and doctors were, however, through the practice of monitoring the chemical composition of drinking water and other preventable health practices, able to subdue the disease.

We live in a time in history when many of the well-known diseases such as small pox, which in the past centuries had killed off populations of people, can be prevented through vaccination.  During WWII, most people who were escaping the Nazis and caught a communicable disease usually died.  Polio was a threat at this time to young children and to adults.  Read my novels on the family from Micholovce, Czechoslovakia, who escaped from the war; read how they did their best to cope with diseases at the war time.  You may access my books under my name, Cheryl Freier  at Author House, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble.

Thoughts of The Sacredness of Certain Animals Still Exists And This Is Good Thinking

Thoughts of The Sacredness of Certain Animals Still Exists And This Is Good Thinking
Written by Cheryl Freier, The Author Of The Day Of The Hidden Truth Poems
The Mi’kmaq people of Nova Scotia have for a very long time considered it a tradition to honor the albino animal. They believe strongly that this special animal is an ancestor coming back to help them. It is a custom for them, but there is not necessarily any laws which provide for the protection of these animals. Recently, in the town of Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, three hunters spotted a white moose in the woods. They pursued the animal and killed it.
There was a public outcry and the hunters apologized to the public. The Mi’kmaq people accepted their apology. Thus, the Mi’kmaq people were recognized as leaders who believed not only in social customs, but as proponents for the survival of ‘special animals”. This is a good concept for others in the world to follow. However, the idea has to be taught and cultured to respect animals as well as to respect people.
It follows that any person who likes and nurtures animals is a happy person. Basically, the person is expressing his or her feelings of love. In the book, The Day Of The Hidden Truth Poems, Martin Freier wrote all of the poems, and the rest of the book was written by Cheryl Freier. The poems were an expression of his feelings and each and every one of the poems has a powerful thought to think about.

The Wonders Of The Whales In The Sea

The Wonders Of The Whales

The Wonders Of The Humpback Whales:  Newly Discovered Information That Helps The Humpback Whale To Survive

By Cheryl Freier

What is new in the whale world?  Scientists have just discovered while conducting research on whales at Antarctica that not every humpback whale migrates back to the equator for their breeding time.  When the winter begins in Antarctica, which is close the month of June, some of the humpbacks find themselves a place to hide, usually in a wind-hollowed crevice formed in the ice.  The whales are not pregnant and they save their strength from the long sea voyage to the Equator.  These humpback whales do differ in breeds—the same as animals who belong to different breeds.  However, the family of humpback whales is always identified by their songs, their call to each other.

Scientists have been tracking the humpback whales and caring about the whales’ environments and food supply.  You might say that the scientists are the modern day shepherds but not of their flock of sheep but of the humpback whales.  By learning as much information as they can about the whales, they are protecting them from predators, the elements, and making certain that the whales flourish in the seas.

Cheryl Freier is the author of four historical fiction novels; she is the author and illustrator of one storybook, The Shepherd Boy And The Sheep Alphabet.  This book is a delightful reading experience for any young child.  Cheryl can be followed on www.thegraylinghiddentruthpoems.com.

The Exciting Facts About A Fish, The Grayling Fish, And How It Relates to People

The Grayling Fish As An Inspirational Force During The War

Written by Cheryl Freier

Listed on Yahoo today, the 12th of September—what caught my eye was an article written on the surprising fact that trout and other species of fish eat shrews.  These findings were a direct result of a study in 2009 on the Kanektok River. The Kanektok River flows through Alaska through the Togiak Wildlife Refuge and flows west eventually flowing to the Bering Sea.

What made the story particularly interesting to me was that the grayling fish was mentioned.  I had known that the grayling fish habitats in the lakes and streams of Alaska, but I was unaware that the grayling fish is another one of the species of fish which eats the shrews.

Previously I had always written about the grayling fish in my blogs about a young family who survived in the woods in Slovakia during the Nazi invasion of Czechoslovakia.  The fish had such a fighting spirit that it inspired the family to subsist and to survive the war.

I had written the family’s personal saga about developing an inner strength that they never thought had existed before and about their ensuing renewal of their faith. The grayling fish was the inspiration for their will to survive.  The book is the first of a series of four books.  The book is entitled:  The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems and it makes for a powerful reading experience.

Read Cheryl Freier’s The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems, The Wild Grasses Hidden Truth Poems, Blossoms Around The Circles, and The Day Of The Hidden Truth Poems for an everlasting reading experience.

The Miracle Of The Discovery Of Previous Artifacts near the Temple Mount

The Miracle Discovery Of Precious Artifacts Near The Temple Mount
The Significance Of The Findings In This Age And Time
By Cheryl Freier
On Yahoo, an explanation was given and pictures shown of gold and silver objects that were recently found, excavated yards away from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Of particular note was the old medallion necklace, which depicted in its very center an engraving of a menorah with seven branches and the stem of the precious religious article resting on three legs. On its left side appeared to be an engraving of a depiction of the top of the mountain of the Temple Mount where the magnificent Temple of Solomon once stood. On top of this mount was a depiction of a ram’s horn. On the right side of the coin on the lower half was a depiction of a King’s crown with a scepter which was discernible underneath.
What would be the significance of this discovery of ancient artifacts. The number one significance would be the verification that Jewish people migrated back and forth to Israel during the centuries, explaining the endless time limit of yearning to come back to their promised land in Israel. This cache of treasures was stored for the renewal of the religion not in countries all over the world that we as a people wandered to, but to renew our religion and our spirit for the religion on our Holy home ground of Israel at a time of G-d had chosen.
During WWII, the reality of the virtual extermination of all Jewry in Europe was real. And Hitler was relentless and brutal in this quest. This discovery is our affirmation from G-d that we are a good people and are worthy to live in the land of Israel and that this time we can remain throughout the ages.
Let us pray for our worthiness to continue to remain in the graces of G-d. Cheryl Freier, who wrote this blog is the author of four novels: The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems, The Wild Grasses Hidden Truth Poems, Blossoms Around the Circles Hidden Truth Poems, and The Day Of The Hidden Truth Poems. The novels are written in memoriam of her husband, Martin Freier, who was a Holocaust survivor.

There Are Men Who Do The Work Of Angels

There Are Men Who Fight For Freedom And Pay For It With Their Lives
By Cheryl Freier (author of The Day Of The Hidden Truth Poems)
Time goes by so quickly that it is hard to remember the events of the Solidarity movement in Poland. The propounding issue of the Solidarity movement was that the Polish people wanted their freedom back from Russia and the Russian philosophies of Communism.
Blessed Jerzy Popieluszko was a Priest during this historical time; he was tireless in his efforts to help his people gain freedom from Communism. Popieluszko broadcast his sermons over Radio Free Europe. He was an arch anti-Communist. The Sluzba Bezpieczenstwa tried to stop him and were afraid that he was being too popular amongst the people. They arranged for him to die in an automobile accident, but the Priest eluded his captors. They kidnapped the Priest and killed him. His body was found in the Vistula Water Reservoir near Wloclawek on October 30, 1984.
(Yahoo)”In 1997 the Roman Catholic Church started the process of his beatification and by 2008 he had the Servant of God status”. My husband, Martin Freier, a survivor of WWII was helped by the Priests in Slovakia. The Priests provided the family with Christian identification papers and they were able to live a little bit longer in their own home while the war was raging. Read my novels which are written in memoriam to my husband, Martin Freier. Particularly, in The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems, there is a chapter that speaks of the gratitude that my husband and his family felt towards the Priests and the Catholic people.
Let us all hope and pray that no nation or people shall ever be under the bondage of another and that freedom for all will prevail. Cheryl Freier’s website is www.thegraylinghiddentruthpoems –read her posted blogs also on http://cherylfreiersite.wordpress.com.

Reflections On The New Chief Rabbi Of England And Wales And About Other Chief Rabbis From The Past

Reflections On The Newly Appointed Chief Rabbi in England and in Wales

By Cheryl Freier (author of The Day Of The Hidden Truth Poems)

http://www.scribd.com/doc/114858476/The-Wild-Grasses

With the coming of the Jewish New Year, the timing is perfect for a new Chief Rabbi, Ephraim Mirvis to take over the position vacated by his predecessor, Lord Jonathan Sachs who held the position for 22 years.  A ceremony was held to celebrate his appointment at the St. John’s Wood Synagogue.  Prince Charles attended the celebration.  Rabbi Ephraim Miurvis has been the Rabbi at another synague in north London, and before that he was the Chief Rabbi of Ireland. Rabbi Mirvis originally comes from South Africa.

Rabbi Mirvis has a mission to unite all Jews in England and Wales.  He represents the United Synagogue and is an Orthodox Jew.  He hopes to emphasize to all prayer participants of the commonality of our ancestry.  The Rabbi has always been highly praised for his work and faith in his people.

During WWII years, from 1937 until the year, 1959, Rabbi HaLevi Herzog was the appointed Rabbi of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.  His friendship with Pope Pius XII helped to save many Jewish men, women, and children from the tragic death of the Holocaust.  The Pope supported the international rationale to save as many Jews as possible during the war.  Rabbi Herzog had an undying faith in his people and did his very best to influence leaders and clergy around the world to save the Jewish people.

Let us pray for the New Year that the new Chief Rabbi will accomplish his many missions.  Let us pray for the souls of the innocent people who perished during WWII.  Let us hope that no other Rabbi in the world has to deal with a complexity and hatred as did the Rabbi, who was appointed during WWII.

Cheryl Freier is the author of The Grayling Hidden Truth Poems, The Day Of The Hidden Truth Poems, and another two novels which tell the story, the plight of a young family forced to flee to the safety of the woods in Slovakia in order to escape from the Nazis.

Justice Shall Prevail Even If War Crimes Are Over 70 Years

Posted by cheryl - September 8th, 2013

GraylingwebsiteCommentShould Crimes Against Humanity Go Unpunished Even After 70 Years Or More?

By Cheryl Freier, Author:  THE GRAYLING HIDDEN TRUTH POEMS (www.thegraylinghiddentruthpoems.com)

Even though I answer this title question with 100 percent affirmation, I must explain why I have answered this way.  During WWII, women were recruited to be guards in the infamous concentration camps in Germany and in conquered countries.

The impact of the torture and degradation in these facilities is astounding.  It is astounding the harm one individual can inflict on another human being.  There is always the choice to do good and to do the right thing.  The women guards of concentration camps that have recently surfaced in the news had to have had severe emotional problems of their own in order to rationalize the wrong doings.  We know now that they were trained to punish and to punish severely even for the smallest infraction like hiding an extra piece of cake.

At the time that WWII ended, there was complete chaos in Europe and, yes, a number of the guards were executed for their high crimes.  These women of question must have known how to escape from justice.  They could not erase, however, the vivid, pictures embedded in memories of the victims.  The crimes were committed and once they were committed, there was no rescinding them.  They should be held accountable for the shameful way they treated innocent people during WWII.

In this season of holidays and redemption, I must mention that history has proven that many people caught in the throes of the war helped victims to escape; helped victims to survive.  We must all follow the examples of those who did good to help another person to survive.  We must have more understanding and thoughts of good deeds for other persons—-this is part of the powerful, poignant issue of Redemption.  We must always strive for justice and strive to do the right thing.

Wishing you peace of mind for the coming years and years to come, I am the author of THE GRAYLING HIDDEN TRUTH POEMS, which is a story about a young family who survived the war.  They survived because they were helped by good people.
