The picture on the cover of the newly published novel, Anna’s Christmas Hidden Truth Poems is a depiction of what happens in the story. Anna Freier and her family are starving out in the woods in Slovakia when the Nazis took over Slovakia. As the writing on the cover of the novel explains, “…a priest and his pastoral community bring human kindness and food to the people who were starving in the woods. It is a most powerful story that is based on a true-to-life experience. On this night in December, Christmas Eve, the Priest and his pastoral community defied the Nazis and brought food to the people in the woods, who were starving.
