From chapter XXVIII, from the powerful novel on the Holocaust in Slovakia, Echoes Resounding from the Past, reads the words from page 121, “Walking while being captured (chapter heading). They walked for quite a distance, but the ‘bull’ with his charge and threat that was inside of the driver made them continue. They had reached the outer edge of the city, Micholovce and now they were walking in fields of across and acres of farm land. Occasionally one man or woman would bend down and tear off the corn from the stalk and munch on the sweet taste and munch on a beet until only the succulence of the taste remained.
